Vasanta Innovations executed a turnkey contract to establish a premier 500-seat Computer-Based Testing (CBT) Examination and Assessment Centre for state competitive examinations, university entrances, and PSU recruitment drives.
The Challenge
The client required a state-of-the-art examination facility with stringent requirements:
- Complete isolation from external network unauthorized access to prevent examination leaks.
- Zero latency or node failures during high-stakes concurrent online exams with 500 candidate seats.
- Uninterrupted power supply (UPS) back-up capable of sustaining 4+ hours of full load.
- Strict physical and digital security compliance adhering to national exam agency guidelines.
Our Solution
High-Density PC Lab Hardware
- Deployed 500 energy-efficient workstations with locked-down BIOS and custom exam OS images.
- Installed Ergonomic furniture and partition shields for secure testing conditions.
Network Architecture & Server Infrastructure
- Dual redundant local examination servers running enterprise Linux in a dedicated server room.
- Isolated gigabit LAN with managed switches, VLAN segmentation, and hardware firewalls.
- Air-gapped exam environment with strict USB and external port disabling.
Security & Surveillance Integration
- Biometric fingerprint scanner and facial recognition at registration desks.
- 64-channel 4K IP CCTV surveillance covering every seat with 90-day redundant recording.
- Metal detector framing and biometric access control for entry gates.
AMC & Infrastructure Maintenance Support
- Provided dedicated on-site network engineers and hardware technicians for exam administration.
- Complete Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) covering preventive maintenance, spare parts replacement, and OS patching.
Results
The centre has successfully conducted over 45 national and state-level competitive examinations, serving over 60,000 candidates with 100% uptime and zero security breaches.
